Hijabi in a Hat

If you wear a hijab and you drive a lot when the sun is up and bright you might relate to this post otherwise you might not be interested at all...

No matter how protective you are, the kind of sunblock you use or the quality of your car's tinted windows you will always have a red/brown circle on your face.

I've always had it ever since I started covering my hair. Some years were worse than others but this year I decided it won't happen again.

Now, I wear a hat while I drive. I don't care about what people think...I just can't be in the car without it since I bought it a couple of weeks ago.

I'm just glad that when this happened last week I wasn't wearing my hat...

Otherwise I would have dumped it in the nearest dumpster for affecting my driving skills :))

My Llittle Mermaids

Last Friday my two girls were getting hyper towards the end of the day and even though it was kinda chilly I took them swimming...we had a great time and I took some really nice pictures and videos. They slept really well that night but then woke up kinda sick.

They still are sick, nothing serious il hamdillah.
I just hope they get better soon so we could continue with our favorite summer activity!

My Cup of Coffee #2

A couple of years ago I blogged about my cup of coffee and I read it today, It made me think of how simpler my life was before becoming a mother of two.

These days, I'm addicted to my cup of coffee.
I NEED to drink it every single day or else I'd get a headache.
Now I only drink it in a travel mug, even at home!
It is safer with my girls jumping all over the place, plus, it keeps my coffee HOT for hours.
Yes, sometimes it takes me 2-3 hours to get all the coffee into my system.
Now, I add more coffee to my cup if I was feeling too sleepy.

Have a nice week my friends :)

For The Sake of Allah...

***A man was sitting with our Holy Prophet when another one passed. The sitting one said, "O Messenger of Allah! I love this man." The Prophet said, "Have you told him?" The man said, "No." The Prophet said, "Tell him!" The man rose to his feet and went to the man who was passing by and said, "I love you for the sake of Allah." He said, "May Allah whom you love, love you in return!" ***
-(Abu Daud; Kitab-al-Adab; Tirmidhi; Kitab-al-Zuhd).

I have a friend,
I tell her all the time that talking to her feels like talking to myself.

I have a friend,
I tell her that if a day passes without seeing her or talking to her, I feel there's something missing.

I have a friend,
I love her and her family and I wish them the best as much as I wish mine.

I have a friend,
My mom and family love her, too.

I have a friend,
She never ever puts me down and would always lift me up no matter how bad I feel.

I have a friend,
She knows the bad side of me, she sees my tears and hears my laughs. When I tell her she's bad she tells me that I'm worse. Yea, she is honest just like that.

I have a friend,
She is my friend, my sister and my mother. Living in a far away country with a big time difference between me and my mom makes it hard to stay quiet and calm.

I have a friend,
I feel grateful for her. I feel like I owe her a lot. She is my girls' aunt.

My Girls' Real Aunt :)
I Am Blessed.
If you have friends like mine, tell them how much you love them, Today :)

Your Preschool Teacher...

My preschool teacher's name was Um Abdallah. That's all I remember. There was a big step to take every day to get into the really tiny classroom. The playground was so much fun though :)

Enough about me,
Today, was Mariyah's last day at school.
With mimi the morning of her 1st day at school
On her 1st day, my sister Mimi was visiting us and when we picked Mariyah up from school that day we headed to LA -6 hours away- on a trip so I totally forgot to blog about it...I kept forgetting to blog for a few months but it's OK now since I'm back to report :)

Marmoura loved school since day one!
She was so excited and the separation anxiety wasn't a problem since she has already been going to the daycare, so she couldn't wait to start having home work and make friends and stuff.

1st day
I always made sure she's the 1st child to enter the class and the last to leave. I enjoy talking to her teachers when there's no one disturbing.
I loved listening to compliments and advices all year long.

Today, was her last day. It was called the Crazy Hair Day.
We both were excited about it and I made sure she calls her hair crazy once she sees it in the mirror :)

She laughed a lot when she saw it and then had a blast at school.
Saying good bye to her teachers was hard.
It's still hard for her to accept the fact that school is over.
I tried to make it simple and special by decorating a cake...

A preschooler has graduated.
Next year there will be big changes in our life. We still didn't decide on anything regarding her education. But I'm not worried, she'll do great no matter what :)

Her #1 teacher Ms. J is just amazing in everything.
Today when she was writing down the names of books I should get for Marmoura during Summer, she saw I was worried so she looked at me and said:
"Whatever you are doing with Mariyah, it's just wonderful, keep doing it".

My silly girl with crazy hair, You Are Smart,
                                                  You Are Kind,
                                                          You Are Important.
May Allah SWT bless you, always :)
