Give, mama...Give!

I could never do it myself, but she has to learn how to love them and be kind to them:) I was so scared standing in the middle, but was so proud of my babies :)

Don't worry tete:)

Every single time I post videos or pictures of Mariyah on my blog my mom's response would be: "That's it???? No more?!!" EVERY single time!!!, although she sees her on the web cam at least 3 times/week.

And now since she's worried about Mariyah being sick these days, here I am posting these videos from yesterday:)
Don't worry tete...even though we are sick...we still have a high spirit and we laugh all the time :)

The best playing area for a child is an empty praying hall in the mosque! The women's area of course :D

Pain...

This is how we spent our day yesterday...Our ONLY day off!
She has ear infection with runny nose, coughing and lots of crankiness, for 6 days so far.

Then she infected us BOTH, so the 3 of us are in PAIN :(
Now we know exactly how she feels...she is suffering :(

Hers...and Michael's...

We spend a lot of time in her bedroom while at home! I want her to get used to it and enjoy it as well :)

Since we moved I started thinking of simple ways to decorate the room. With low budget you can't go fancy and since we can't paint walls or make holes I tried my best to add color and life to it...

Cookie magazine's ideas and tips made it much easier on me. The materials suggested and pictures displayed of real kids rooms helped me a lot too :)

3 years ago Jeeej took me to Michael's and I fell in love with it! The smell of their products made me addicted! I kept visiting, sometimes to buy decorative items and other times just to go through their books, displayed on the racks of each section, suggesting ideas of how to collect simple items to build lovely crafts.

When my sister Nour was in DC few weeks ago, she gave me a call once telling me about this store and how much she liked it and she told me about the stuff she bought from there and then she said: it's name is Michael's, do you have it in CA?!

-Of course we do!! A huge one is only 10 min away from my house, me and Mariyah were there today, and I love it :)
-Great!! Because I just got a gift card for you so you can use it for Mariyah's room ;)

It was a very generous and a thoughtful gift :)
It's so much fun doing this!

still I'm working on few more items and I'll be done soon Inshallah!

BAJD...By Mariyah

Jordan is where tete and jiddo live,
and my aunts Nour, Rana, Marwa and uncle Ward.
and many many other relatives and friends and people I don't know...this is what I call family.

Jordan is where I get to sleep anywhere, not in my prison -crib-! I sleep on my grandparents' bed, or on any bed I want! I can even sleep on a couch!!! This is what I call freedom.

Jordan is where I have so many people to play with, every single day! They all love playing with me and they even fight who's turn it is to hold me and play with me! This is what I call real laughs.

Jordan is where I get to eat real mansaf, real mahashi, real hummos and real everything food, all cooked by my tete. This is what I call fine taste.

Jordan is where I can cheat and sit on some one's lap in the car if I want to, only because I want to, and this is what I call feeling secure.

Jordan is where people celebrated my existence, over and over again...this is what I call warmth.

Jordan is where I get to play in the backyard and touch the trees with my own hands, where I get to water the plants with jiddo and play with the water when it's really hot, where I get to grab a branch from the olive tree. This is what I call peace.

Don't get me wrong, I love California, but Jordan has a different taste and I miss it and I hope I'll get to visit it sometime soon :)

As for now, here's a video I hope you enjoy! It's a different kind of fun I wish I can have in Jordan; sharing my spaghetti with the birds by the lake :D

This man,

Is the love of my life!
This is the first picture he sent me when we first met online, and I fell in love with it!
It was taken in Jordan right after completing hajj 04-05.

This picture was sent with his second e-mail to me, and in that e-mail he wrote:

"I wanted to ask u something, please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm trying to figure out the exact pronunciation of yr name, is it spelled noon, dal, alif, hamza? I think it would be a good idea if we're going to get to know each other to be able to say each others names..."

That was the 1st time I realize how good he is in Arabic! I was surprised and impressed!

When we started chatting, and talking over the phone, it was sooo funny... his mistakes were so cute and I played the role of a teacher and kept fixing them one by one and he was improving so quick and it scared me! I don't want him to become THAT good in Arabic! his mistakes are soooo cute and I love them!
When we fight -we fight a lot!- these mistakes make me laugh deep inside no matter how angry I am with him. What I love about him is that he insists on speaking Arabic even if the Arabs around him keep using English!

Now, with Mariyah it's so cute...he makes sure he uses proper Arabic with her...like saying "tilfaz, 7asoob and many other words...Many more!!

These days...I mean since August last year, his Arabic is improving really well and quick and he is using new words every day! It's because he is interacting with soooo many Arabs in the community...

Yesterday he felt cold, and he said: qash3areeera!!!

I love himmmmmmmmmmmm....

cheeeeeeeeeeeeese...

While Mariyah is sleeping and dreaming of tomorrow's breakfast...I get to do so many things at the new house :)

For instance, I like to stare at my new pink slippers. The -no carpet- floors make my feet get really cold and freezing sometimes ! Hard floors are not safe for Marmar :s I have to watch every single move she makes and it's not easy at all :(

While I was staring at my slippers the cheeeeeese muffins got ready! I made only six Muffins...

and they looked and tasted reeeeally gooooood!!! and I wish I made 60 instead of 6.

Want some?!?!

**Mariyah's room's under construction...nothing too fancy...but I'll do my best :$

***We got the Internet today afternoon and it feels like home now...All I hope and wish for now is to have jeeej hang some stuff on the walls...and then I can take pix of the whole place and send them to my family and friends...
