Le Grand Voyage...
Last Tuesday, I gave my favourite student Naheel a reading class, and just before leaving, her mom asked me: do you speak French? I said: No, I don't...why?! She said: Yesterday I've watched a very nice movie and I think you should watch it too!! They speak French but it has subtitles:)
She gave me one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen in my whole life...A very simple yet spiritual movie that brought tears to my eyes at the end...Le Grand Voyage
It's about a guy who had to drive his dad to Mecca for Hajj, starting from France and driving through several European and Arab countries including Jordan...
Their long journey together changed their lives!
I got so emotional when the father once got really mad at his son, so his son asked for apology saying: Don't you practice forgiveness in your religion?!
I highly recommend watching this movie,,,
And I hope that one day I'll get the chance to go to Mecca for Hajj...Even if I had to take the hardest way:)
Oh, and Maioush, I really wanted to talk about how people block other people's comments..but it's ok, maybe later :pppp

37 Beautiful Days...
This was my answer to the officer in ORD airport when he asked me: For how long have you been away?! Then he said: Welcome back home!

Thanks for those who kept visiting my blog while I'm away...and for leaving comments...I really appreciate it, it means a lot to me:)
My vacation back in Amman, was exactly what I needed and more! I had a great time there and I spent priceless hours with my family and friends....

Before Amman, our honeymoon in Spain was amazing! We spent a lot of time at The villa we rented in the middle of no where!! Before we paid for it, it's owner e-mailed us asking if we were sure that this is what we really want, becaue it's isolated, and really far away from the main villages around it. Our answer was: this is exactly what we want!
The road trips were really long and tiring, especially that the Navigator -Azeeezeh- we took with us failed us and didn't unlock the maps over there...we lost our way several times on our first day there, from Madrid to Pitras, But it was so much fun, and challenging to read the maps in a foreign country...husbandi did a great job actually...was really amazing!
The car we rented wasn't available at the airport so we ended up with the smallest Peugeot EVER! We were too tired of our trip and just took whatever was available, and it did a great job!

We went to Al-Hamra in Granada, and I loved it as much as I love Petra...walking around from one spot to another, and seeing all the architecture and art was breath taking! We took so many pictures there...
It was funny when some people there saw me and Jeeej trying to figure out the Arabic writings on the walls, and then approached us and asked : Is this a special kind of writing?!?! Can you really read this?! hehe...
Swimming in the Mediterranean sea was a very special experience! Especially because the beaches were full of topless women, while I was the only one there covering myself from top to toe, hehe...It wasn't easy AT ALL at the beginning, but Jeeej's support was more than enough for me to go into the sea and swim like never before :pp
Spanish sea food was yummi yummi, sight seeing was wonderful...Driving in the narrowest streets between houses was like mission impossible! I liked the idea of fresh water running in long narrow canals between houses in the old villages there...Shopping was really nice too! The pasta I cooked and the BBQ Jeeej did for me on the terrace are unforgettable.
I could never stop talking about how great Spain and it's people is!!
Most of the pictures and videos we took there were lost...But we believe that Spain's memories will always live in our hearts!
In Jordan...
My sister Mimi's graduation, My cousin Dalia's engagement party, and
Dima's wedding were all on the same day!
Dima's wedding were all on the same day!
Dima's wedding was really nice! She was radiant mashallah,,, and dancing there didn't stop at all! You could see how happy their friends and family were the whole time...May God bless her and Nimer...Knowing that she is doing great overseas makes me so happy for her:)
I attended another wedding party of my friend since 6th grade and it was really nice to see her there in her white dress!
It was a very busy summer this year...spending long hours talking to my mom and dad...and seeing how my sisters and little brother are doing great was really good for me! I thank God for a very special family, who didn't make me feel like a stranger over there at all.
I thank mama & baba for all the yummi food they prepared while I'm there...I thank my friends who came to see me at Mimi's graduation party, and for spending long hours with me at my place, their places or outside...
I miss Amman already...But I'm doing fine...I realized that I got used to it here...I'm back to my students, I gave my first class today morning...I'll be back to school next week God's welling...and life will keep going on...
Thanks for those who kept visiting my blog while I'm away...and for leaving comments...I really appreciate it, it means a lot to me:)
