...for the Bride's Soul.

Few years ago, my sister Rana borrowed a book from her friend to read. It's title attracted me, so while she was reading, I flipped it's pages and decided to read it once she is done. I can read it's content over and over again, now if I can. It was "Chicken Soup for the Soul".

It took me only 2 days to read all it's pages. Many Inspiring and Touching true stories. All written by people from all over the world. It's not an easy task to write such a story in up to 3 pages, but in that book mission was done...perfectly!

Last year, I was with my friend Rina at Mecca Mall shopping for novels. I was delighted to see the big number of "Chicken Soup" books laying on one of the store's shelves! the books' titles would indicate the content. Such as "Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul, the Sister's Soul, the Dieter's Soul, the Girlfriend's, the Father's, Teenage, Romantic...." and many many more...
What I got was the one for "the Bride's Soul".

The book is divided into chapters, where stories sharing same content are put together; "The Meaning of Marriage", "Proposals", "The perfect Dress"...While reading the stories I was still engaged & I felt that they were arranged to accompany my own life's arrangements! It helped in giving me strength to handle all the wedding's arrangements and helped me overcome all the stupid mishaps during that period. It gave me ideas for our wedding party, and even how to save my dress after the wedding night!!

Back in Amman I decided to stop reading the stories once I reached the chapter : "Welcome to the Family". I read it all when me and Jeeej were on our way to his family's in Auburn, last Thanksgiving, for I knew I'll be meeting everyone there and again it was encouraging me to overcome my stress by telling all the funny incidences real couples have had before...

On it's first pages there is a space where I am supposed to write a dedication. It's still empty, since I'm planning to give it to my first daughter In Sha'a Allah one day, when she is ready:)

Few days ago, this Feb. I finished reading it! it's last chapter was "Timeless Wisdom". Stories told by couples who have been married for many years. It helped me understand that : " Even for two people who are very much in love, learning to live together is full of challenges".

If I was asked to recommend a book for a Bride to be, this book would be the one:) of course along with other great books, such as "Mars and Venus in love, together forever, in the bedroom,..." There's also this great Arabic book, my sister Nour got me, it's "To7fat al 3aroos".

Now, I'm planning to read "Chicken Soup for the Working Woman's Soul" hint Jeeej, hinnnnnt ;p
